Do I need to get numbed for a filling?

When a cavity is small, sometimes we do not need to numb a patient for the filling procedure. In this case, a pit cavity was caught early and we gently removed the cavity with primarily air abrasion and then approximately 10 seconds of gentle drilling. The patient was not numbed for this procedure and tolerated it well.
